Seth Lee Phillips, long-time resident of American Fork, passed away on Friday morning, May 8, 2009 following a courageous battle with leukemia at the age of 72. He was a graduate of the American Fork High School class of 1955, and married his sweetheart, Pearl Athene Pappas, on October 15, 1955. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lee was a building contractor in the plastering trade for much of his career, and also worked for several years as Director of Maintenance at the Utah State Developmental Center. He was a true horseman, and enjoyed his service as President of the American Fork Riding Club in 1966. Lee and Athene embraced the role of grandparents, and delight in their 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express heart-felt thanks to Dr. Douglas Mower and Dr. Wendy Bryer for their excellent care. Special thanks is also given to Lauri Valerio, for her loving care of her dad.
